Luke Fry Architecture and Interior Design was founded in 2014 with a view to creating design-led properties that are refined, sophisticated, purposeful and relevant.

Based in Melbourne and Mansfield, the studio specialises in new residential homes, heritage renovations, interior design and small-scale boutique developments with a focus on simple yet strong materials.

Owner and Director Luke Fry boasts a trifecta of skills, with degrees in Interior Designer (B. Int. Des) and Architecture (B. Des. Arch, M. Arch) in addition to accreditation as a registered builder. With a professional career spanning 15 years, he has held positions at some of Australia’s most illustrious firms including Jackson Clements Burrows Architects, Rob Mills Architecture and Travis Walton Architecture.

With an ever-expanding roster of projects, Luke has now carved his own identity as one of Australia’s brightest young designers and was recently selected as a judge on the TV program Australia’s Best House on 9Life in 2021.

Based in Melbourne and Mansfield and raised in regional Victoria, Luke has a distinctly Australian perspective and innate understanding of topography, context and terrain that informs his work. The result are homes that prioritise sensory impact, with special attention given to light, air flow and tactility. It’s a design language that bears the hallmarks of simplicity, controlled curves, tonal palettes and uncomplicated forms complemented by micro detailing

Initially launching as a sole operator, Luke has grown the practice to a team of eight who have been recognised with industry awards, commendations and praise from a raft of prestigious publications. The team consists of registered architects, architectural graduates, interior designers and a dedicated practice manager, who are constantly pushing the envelope with forward-thinking ideas that enhances the way we live.

Grounded in the belief that design shouldn’t be for ‘design’s sake,’ Luke Fry Architecture and Interior Design upholds the philosophy that carefully considered built environments should be for the betterment of its inhabitants.
