Multi-Residential

Designing two townhouses on a single, spacious 930 sqm plot was a unique proposition that provided greater opportunities when it came to the orientation of the build.

Treated as two freestanding homes with no shared walls, each house was given its own unique floorplan, driveway and entry. Further enhancing the feeling of independent living, amenities were designed to be completely separate with no shared common property. Marketed to a more senior age bracket, sprawling gardens and lawns were foregone in favour of smaller indoor and outdoor courtyards. Collaborating with Melbourne-based landscapers Acre, the concept called for an injection of smaller, yet more, green spaces.

Responding to the site context, the buildings have been ordered one behind the other, making for a unique arrival experience. As a result, they both have entirely different footprints. The exteriors, however, are in sync when it comes the full-brick façade with pitched roofs influenced by the local context and authentic suburban streetscape.
